I'm Johan Lindstedt, founder of Mesh Nordic AI, the company that built M:AI Search. AI solutions abound, but very few are truly user-friendly.

Why build a user-friendly AI product search?

We searched for a long time without finding anyone who could solve our needs with a really good product search in ecommerce.

The apps and search functions we found had serious flaws, either in usability or intelligence - or they didn't work on mobile - where most people shop today!
Most importantly, of all the companies we tested, none could solve the real problems of product search faced by e-tailers, without losing tons of visitors.

According to Nosto Ecommerce report february 2023:69% of online shoppers go straight to the search bar.80% leave the search bar, dissatisfied with the on-site search.39% abandon the online store without finding relevant products.

We started this journey as creators of an ecommerce platform

At that time, we had 600 e-tailers paying for our ecommerce platform, which was amazing! But we aimed higher.

In 2018, we really wanted to help e-tailers increase their sales. The goal was to keep visitors longer on each ecommerce site and encourage more purchases, but in a way that felt pleasant for the visitors.
It quickly became clear that product search was crucial for an ecommerce business to grow. We were looking for a company that had built a truly user-friendly and intelligent product search. It should help visitors easily find the products they wanted, and ideally as an app we could integrate into our own ecommerce platform. We were hoping for a collaboration where our platform could be extended with their product search.
After searching the entire market for several months and trying a variety of product searches, we were very dissatisfied. The various product searches did not provide the search results we expected, not even close. They were not user-friendly and often provided a poor search experience. Many times we got the message that kills online sales: "No products found". We tried to talk to the companies that had built these solutions, but they wouldn't listen to feedback.

Fast forward to today, 2025. We still find the same issues in most ecommerce platforms' on-site product search. The search experience and features available can not be appealing to many e-tailers. Many businesses must be experiencing the same thing.
● The requirements for product search are too low and nowhere near the e-tailers' needs. What could be more important in an ecommerce than helping customers find the right products?
● Many useful and obvious features are usually missing. For example, keyword highlighters, correct spelling mistakes, showing thumbnails of variants, and viewing stock status and stock quantity almost never exist.Don't visitors want to know if they can actually buy the product? This is incomprehensible to us.
● Multi-stores & multi-tenant. To be able to install the product search on multiple ecommerce stores with a single login.It shouldn't be difficult to install, a few clicks should be enough.

The price of smart product search is not the biggest problem for e-tailers, but rather the fact that it loses thousands of visitors and often doesn't understand what the visitor means.

What differentiates our business model?

Model 1: Keeping your current product search
